I was following the directions (or so I thought) and it wasn't working. The one small step that I missed was this... on the Mac, once both computers have Migration Assistant running a computer picture pops up on the Mac. CLICK ON this picture and that's how the code appears!!!!!!! YAY! It said it would take about 9 hours to transfer all my files, but it took over 12 hours. Oh well...

But now I have a new question. With the data transfer from my PC to Mac complete, I now have an additional "User" on my Mac and that is where all my transferred files are. But I also have the "User" that I set up in the Apple Store when I bought my Mac and that's where my Office for Mac programs are.... Can I combine these two Users into 1 that has everything??

Thanks for all the help!

Office will work for any user. Applications are not normally installed for a single user. They are installed in the /Applications folder for all users.

You could consider leaving the original as an admin user and set the new one as standard.

If you also have data files in that original user, you can transfer them to the new user by first moving them to the /Users/Shared folder, then log in as the new user and copy them from there into your new user's folders.
