We just got Chrome cast for our tv and it does not work with my Macbook Pro. It works with my iphone 4S. I currently run OS X Version 10.6.8. Is ther any special software that I need to get?

The Chrome Cast web site shows two versions, one for Mac (OSX) and one for iOS. It appears you need another one for your MBP.

I downloaded the most updated version of google chrome and still it doesnt work. When I try to connect to my chromecast it connects only the video. The audio still runs off my computer. And then it shuts off my wireless internet and I have to restart it.

If it works with your phone, it indicates that you have the IOS version. There are two versions: one for IOS (Phones) and one for OSX (Macbook Pros + other Macs). Did you download the latter? If you did and it still does not work, then you will have to go to the support section of the Chrome cast web site for assistance.

click apple logo and then system preferences and click on sound and then click on the tap output then chose chromecast

I feel your pain BonesD, I got my Chromcast the first of Feb and it works great on my MacBook Pro running 10.6.8 & on my iPad, but yesterday it quit, In Netflicks, I click the casting icon then it gives me a message on screen saying closing on the iPad. I redownloaded Chrom and the Chromcast app but it advise me to run Chrom off another devise cause me current devise in not compatable with it. Did Apple do something to not let it work on it's products? It was compatable last week!!
