I would be careful about using memory mainly intended for PC motherboards. If you are going to buy branded memory buy Crucial.com. Otherwise, purchase from OWC or DataMem.

Also note this peculiarity about mid 2010 iMacs:

Additional notes             i5 and i7 Quad Core iMac computers come with both top memory slots populated. These computers will not start up if only a single DIMM is installed in any bottom slot; these computers should operate normally with a single DIMM installed in any top slot. Core Duo iMac computers should operate normally with a single DIMM installed in any slot, top or bottom. ("Top" and "bottom" slots refer to the orientation of the slots in the pictures below. "Top" refers to the slots closest to the display; "bottom" refers to the slots closest to the stand).

    from this page:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1423?viewlocale=en_US#4

According to that, your problem may be that you are just using 1 module in the bottom slot?

    I installed 2 modules, 1x8GB in slot 0 and 1x8GB in slot 1.

If that did not happen with the RAM that came with your Mac, something is wrong with the modules you bought. Install the old modules, return the RAM and get more RAM from one of the websites that Kappy gave you.

Is the original RAM still installed or did you remove that?

Upgrad RAM is PC3-10600 1333MHz 2x8GB kit, my original rams have these specs too.

    27-inch, Mid 2010

Processor  2.8 GHz Intel Core i5

    Memory  4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Graphics  ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB

    Software  OS X 10.9.1 (13B42)

    This is original RAMS

Does increase in RAMS increase the temperture of the computer hence affects the functions? Temp now is 42C, when I had the 16 rams it was 47C.

    I'll re-phrase my question:

When you installed the new RAM, was that the only RAM in the computer (and you took out the old RAM)? If yes, then read the Apple information I linked to. You cannot have only 1 RAM module in the bottom slots or it will be a problem.

I removed the original 2x2GB from both slots and replaced it with 2x8GB

The kernel panic indicates that this RAM you purchased is NOT compatible with your Mac and, probably, any Mac.

Correct and completely reliable Mac RAM can be purchased from online Mac RAM sources Crucial memory or OWC (macsales.com).

Return the RAM you purchased and get your money back and purchase from these online Mac RAM sellers.

They have the correct spec'd RAM that you need for your Mac!
