Deleted iPhoto - need to download again-HOW without cost implication

Hi, I've deleted iPhoto and need to download again, how can I do so without the cost implication? Tried restoring from backup-the folder/files are not there.

When I look at downloading it again, it's asking me to pay. Not sure if it's go through with payment, but don't want to take that chance. iPhoto came with my Mac, so surely I should be able to download it again cost free?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), iPhoto

Did your Mac come with DVDs or not? (Or better: did you buy your Mac before or after July 2011?):

If your Mac came with DVDs (so you bought it before July 2011) -> insert the Applications disc that came with your computer and install iPhoto. Then open  > Software Update, and install the latest version.
If your Mac did not come with DVDs (so you bought it after July 2011) -> open the Mac App Store, select Purchases at the top and download iPhoto for free. If you do not see iPhoto listed, first try to unhide it > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4928?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

reinstall from the original source

Could be

1 - the restore disks that came with the computer

or

2 - the iLife DVD that you purchased

or

3 - the app store - log in under the Apple id used to purchase the software or to set up the computer - look under purchases - you might have to unhide or accept the Application first
