connecting an unknown apple device to iTunes

I have my own iPhone on my iTunes but my iPod that I never use wants me to connect it to iTunes as I forgot the pass code do I sign out of my iTunes account to do this because the iPod isnt in my name.

iPod touch, iOS 6.1.5
