Jan 9, 2014 3:00 PM in response to Klchatelby judysings,Hi Klchatel,
Happy New Year, and Welcome to the Support Communities!
Once you update your events and projects into the new FCPX 10.1 format, you can’t go back and access the older project.
If the original projects and events were on your Macintosh HD in the Movies folder, then you should see a new Library with the name of your Macintosh Hard drive in FCPX 10.1 (This library can be renamed.)
Inside the newly created Library is a single Event, and inside that event you will find your project.
You should be able to select the project and continue working with it in the new FCPX 10.1 environment.
For a more detailed explanation on the changes in media management with Final Cut Pro 10.1, please review the following:

Mar 6, 2014 5:47 AM in response to judysingsby gogoyesyes12345,Hello, I have just updated from 10.0 to 10.1. I followed the update library proceedure. The update found my clips but it didn't find the projects. The video clips of the video I was making are all there but the project timeline cannot be found. I have searched the clips thouroughly and have even created new projects inside the library. The new projects remain, but every time I tell it to update it simply won't find the 10.0 project file and import it.
Upon updating the library I told it not to delete the origional files, it made copies. Through finder I can see all the old files are there (in 10.0 events and projects are in seperate folders)
This is a major issue for those upgrading from 10.0.
Thanks
Matt
