Preference pane Sound unresponsive

Hi everybody,

I installed a Pro-Apps update yesterday and since then my mac is slow using everything that uses sound. Because I make music with Logic, ProTools and edit video my computer is totally useless now ;-( I already did a fresh install from the DVD (Snow Leopard, and applied the online system updates.

I've been trying to get my Mac back working to normal but until sofar no luck. I keep seeing the colourred wheel..., like it's looking for sdomething but can't find it?

Anyone ideas?
