Q: Itunes stops working when trying to restore and IPOD touch.

I have tried the directions on "If you can't update or restore your iOS device" page, but every time I try to restore the IPOD it crashes the program. Any suggestions on how to restore this to factory settings?

iPod touch, iOS 6.1.5

Thank you for the information, but the program still crashes about 1 min into the restore process. I have removed and reloaded the entire Itunes program thinking that it was corrupted, but that has not worked either. Any other suggestions?

What is listed in the status bar in iTunes when it crashes (what iTunes doing when it crashes).
Try another cable
Try on another computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem

Has a few errors.

iOS 6.1.5
Fixes an issue that causes FaeTime calls to fail for some users on iPod touch (4th generation).

As soon as that window pops up another window pops up and states

iTunes has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
or
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

Try posting in the iTunes forum. Make sure you say you tried in the iPod touch forum
