How do I stop my iPod duplicating an album?

I have an iPod touch 5th gen and it has this lovely habbit of duplicating a single album 10 times.

If I delete a copy, it deletes all 10 copies. Obviously I only want the one.

To clarify, before I go into said album, it shows 18 songs. When I go into it to play a song or shuffle the album, I can scroll down a list of 180 songs. When I do shuffle it, a lot of the time I get the same song several times in a row which is rather irritating to me. Nothing else does this, just the one album.

How do I tell the iPod to stop duplicating songs in this rather odd manner?
