Why won't my iPod touch turn back on?

I was using my iPod and the screen suddenly went white and th home button wasn't working so I tried locking it just to see if it would workt but now it won't turn back on/].

iPod touch, iOS 7.0.4, 5th Generation 32 gb

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If either the Home or Power buttons do not work,

Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:

If necessary:

Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
