The only issue is, that those QT captures really aren't editable in FCP. They are MPEG format or H.264.
Maybe if you use my multiclip sequence trick...but I have heard many people say that they couldn't get the stuff they captured with QT to work in FCP.

I believe they are DV Stream. DV stream is a straight digital file transfer - very similar to what iMovie does.
Mpeg2 or H.264 would involve way too much processing.
