How to delete a playlist on iPod 5?

I was on my iPod after downloading some music and i wanted to create some new playlists. i noticed there was a "Purchased" playlist for some of the songs that i downloaded off of iTunes and i tried deleting it but it wouldnt let me. I tried swiping left to the right and everything like that, and its not showing up on my macbook pro. Can and will i ever be able to delete the playlist? 😕
