PHOTOSHOP FILES BLURRY IN FINAL CUT PRO

Ok, I've read other posts with this question, but it doesn't seem to get answerd correctly. I'm having problems when working with imported photoshop files. Now, I know how to resize the image in photoshop to get it proportionate in final cut. When i import the psd, it creates a new sequence. In the PSD sequence, the image looks great, nothing is wrong with it. However, once I copy the psd from its own sequence into the main sequence i'm editing, its very jagged and blurry. However, once I turn "Motion Blurr" on under the motion tab, it looks somewhat decent. Anyone know why the psd looks verry jagged and horrible once coppied to the sequence i'm editing?

P.S.- The image appears this way both on my apple cinema hd display AND on an NTSC TV monitor

Also, is it fully rendered? Is there a green bar above it at the top of the sequence? Make sure all your render settings are correct (checkmark them all if you're unsure) under Sequence> Render, and Sequence> Render All, render the clip in the timeline, and then view it on your NTSC monitor.

Are there many thin horizontal lines in your .psd image?

Ok, RT is on "Safe". Video quality is on high. After rendering, same results on copmuter monitor and NTSC TV. I've heard of this happening with multiple image formats, such as .jpg files. Try importing a .jpg picture onto the timeline..... for some reason it apperas blurry and jagged in the preview AND on a NTSC TV even after rendering. However, once you turn on "motion blur" in the filters tab to a high setting, it apperas somewhat normal. Anyone know why this happens..... even with photoshop files?

I've also found that when you have still images in Final Cut that are intended for DVD, using Export to Compressor from within Final Cut produces better quality DVDs. The problem is it requires you to tie up Final Cut during the compression process. I think the difference is worth the extra time based on my owns tests.

My theory is that Final Cut sends the original image data to Compressor rather than rendering it to DV first which prevents the quality loss of the DV format. I have no inside knowledge of the applications to prove my theory.

Maybe I'm being too simple about this but I think I know what could be wrong.

Keep the PSD file in its own sequence and - nest it - into the main sequence.

Or is that what you meant by the above quoted material?

Hallelujah! I think we found a solution. I checked everything under SEQUENCE>RENDER SELECTION except "unlimited" and then rendered the picture in the sequence. Then a greyish blue line appeared where the green render line usually appears like you said. I played it back and the photo is CRYSTAL clear!!!! Thanks again everyone for the quick help and all the tips!!!!
