In Mavericks 9.0.1 MAIL, I can't see any images in HTML emails - only attachment images. I have selected MAIL Preferences/Viewing/Display remote images in HTML messages.

I was getting more and more emails on Apple Mail where the images were not showing leaving the small boxes with question marks where the images should be. The fix: In the Keychains Utility delete the Certificates that have red crosses on them and are invalid. I had about 6 with red crosses. Would liked to have identified the particular offending one but the reality is that if the Certificates are invalid they are of no use anyway. Restart the computer and images should now show correctly. S

I had a problem with images failing to display in Mavericks Mail but, unlike other replies, there were no boxes containing question marks; the messages were simply displayed as text with lots of links. My solution was to go directly to my Yahoo email account and select mail>settings>security>show images in emails>always, except in Spam folder.
