User uploaded fileWell, my Pioneer DVD-R/HDD unit lets me pick one of two disc formats, I can't off the top of my head remember what they are but I do remember that one is more compatible than the other. Do you have a choice? If so try the other format.

Also, make sure you finalise the discs. If you don't they won't play in many other devices other than other Samsung DVD players.

The OP wrote in his first post that the discs were finalized.

Andrew, if the Mini won't read the disc you should find a way to copy them with the Windows PC in a more compatible format. Also, you should try to burn new discs in a compatible format. Many DVD burners will let you write to DVD-RWs in a format that's not compatible with most DVD players, but you should also have the option to write the discs in the more compatible format. You should find more information in your recorder's manual.

problem is mac's dvd playback software only reads dvd's that are legit but checking the dvd key located on the dvd disk without the key certain dvd's will not read under mac os x sorry

i ran into this while trying to burn a iso for my boot camp installation to run windows xp media center edition i had to use nlite to recreate a windows disk because xp media center comes on 2 disks and the mac mini doesn't allow you to eject cds during the windows installation and while trying to read the dvd disk after burning on my mac mini my mac mini reported a error cannot read dvd no dvd key code detected
