I wanted to be able to watch movies from websites on safari but they have too many pop ups and I'm afraid to get a virus. (I use adblock plus on my regular hp laptop)
Is Ad Block Plus safe to use on safari? Does it block every bad pop up?
Any recommendations?

Yes try it. It is not a virus.
Make sure you get it from the OFFICIAL safari add-on site. (Green security bar with Apple inc on it)
It does block most pop-ups. It's not perfect but its very useful. It's also very easy to uninstall if needed.
Is it better to download google chrome and put the adblock plus ad-on on there? Do you think it will be better that way to control popups?
You can try that as well!. Try both! Get adblock plus for safari and download google chrome and it's adblock plus as well 🙂
It all comes down to personal preference. The ad-blocking is about equal in both browsers. Google chrome is much faster but lacks the visual effects that Safari has.
Try out the two browsers and see which one you like more and you will also see which one blocks ads better.
