Jan 5, 2014 7:37 AM in response to rkaufmann87by Aaron622,I don't see anything there that addresses my issue. That article just deals with Apple keyboard/mouse, whereas I am having issues with an audio device.

Jan 7, 2014 11:39 AM in response to Aaron622by paperstarships,I am having this same issue - where I work, we use bluetooth trackpads. If my boss tries to connect his wireless bluetooth keyboard to his computer, I get the request on my machine every single time. The "Bluetooth Troubleshooting" article does not address any part of blocking requests, bluetooth security settings, or anything related to this issue at all, really. I do not believe there is currently any fix or setting that CAN resolve either of our problems, but I'm hoping that posting this at least puts the issue out there for hopefully somebody who can address this issue to see.

Jan 25, 2014 3:20 AM in response to Aaron622by Gesteira,I have the same problem. With 10.9.0 bluetooth worked like a charm. Now, in 10.9.1, I cannot connect my magic mouse. No matter what I try.
Sending feedback to Apple

Feb 12, 2014 4:45 PM in response to Aaron622by happyteamlabs,I had the same problem but with a bluetooth keyboard. It kept pairing with my iMac even though I have a new one installed. The post below fixed it for me. It involves:
- removal of all bluetooth devices in the Bluetooth preferences
- deletion of "com.apple.Bluetooth.plist" in the /Library/Preferences folder (if you have the same file in ~/Library/Preferences then you should also delete it, though in my iMac with OS X 10.9.1, I did not have this file)
- rebooting the machine
- and then re-adding back the needed bluetooth devices (pair them again)

Apr 19, 2014 10:37 PM in response to Aaron622by ndteach10,I have had the same problem where my Onkyo receiver would continually try to pair with my imac after it was asleep etc. I would be watching tv and all of a sudden the screen goes to " pairing....." I fixed it, for now. In system preferences...bluetooth... let the device connect. If it stays connected it will not continue to ask to pair. So basically my mouse, keyboard, and the receiver are all CONNECTED. this fixes the constant attempts

May 1, 2014 10:22 AM in response to Aaron622by Curtmania,This is a horrible bug in OS X. I was troubleshooting a device that streams audio to my daughters hearing aids when I paired it with my Mac Book Pro. Since then I have removed the Streamer from my Bluetooth preferences, and now every few minutes I am harassed by a dialog requesting to pair with it.
Why can't there be a button on that dialog to ignore requests from that device??? It disconnects my Plantronix headset randomly if I allow it to pair, and it won't let me ignore them!
* Frustration is happening *

You are not addressing Apple here, this is an end user forum. Help is provided by end users just like yourself. Instead of ranting please offer your feedback in a constructive fashion to Apple, you can send it at:

Oct 18, 2014 11:52 AM in response to Aaron622by Aaron622,Looks like this is finally fixed in Yosemite. There is now an Ignore button. So far it works for me.

Dec 12, 2014 8:17 AM in response to happyteamlabsby JeffPeppers,This didn't fix things for me initially, but after another sudo rm of the plist, and a reboot I haven't seen new requests.. :\ *crossfingers*
This work computer I'm using must've previously paired with my bosses bt keyboard years ago.
Bluetooth Prefs->Advanced... could use an overhaul with the ability/settings to "deny all new" or "deny specific device"
If this had been an option, I wouldn't have had to find a janky old wired mouse/kb to fix my problems or reboot.
Please and Thanks Apple!
(Perhaps this is in Yosemite and I just don't know any better , as I'm on 10.9.5)

Dec 12, 2014 8:43 AM in response to JeffPeppersby JeffPeppers,Here's some info I've gathered on potentially fixing/etc:
..so holding option on the menubar item and grabbing the offending devices MAC address info then placing this info into the plist file *should* theoretically fix this issue
Good luck everyone.
