Two desktop screens while using three finger swipe?

Hello I have a 13 inch mid 2012 mac book pro.

I've never had this problem until about a month after installed mavericks.

I just tried to reinstall mavericks using the recovery partition but that did not help.

Here is a picture of what I am talking about.

The first screen is my normal desktop and the second is the copy.

When I click on an application in the copy desktop screen it just goes back to

the original desktop and launches the application. Can someone please help me fix this glitch?
