Add a WPS printer does not appear on the Airport Utility/Base Station. How do I set up the printer?

The manufacturer's setup instructions for some wireless printers specify that you should press a "WPS button" on your Wi-Fi router. There is no such button on AirPort devices, but you can still use WPS (W-Fi Protected Setup) to connect a printer, provided you're running AirPort Utility 6.2 or later.

I'm trying to set up my printer, either using WPS or the code, but can't see the recommended fix on Airport Utility.

Are you using an Apple router, like the AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule?

If yes, does it appear in AirPort Utility?

I am using an Airport Extreme (4th Generation, not a dropped Apple technology yet). I get "An error occurred while communicating with the printer" even though I can add, set up the printer under System Preferences.

Airport Utility on Macbook shows different wireless clients than Airport Utility on iMac.
