In the last version of iMovie it is not clear how to regolate the audio.
How to reduce the lenght
How to dssolve tha volume
Is it posssible to reload the old version!
The new one looks a big crap!

Actually the audio adjustmnets are more powerful than in iMovie 9 but done differently. See iMovie help "Work with audio and music" "Adjust volume".
it is necessary to study the help files because the user interface is quite different.
When you updated to Mavericks it should have left iMovie 9 in your Applications folder in a folder "iMovie 9.0.9".
