My iPhone 4S Wifi issue and overheating.

My iPhone 4S will no longer connect to WIfi. The Wifi connection is strong and my phone can find the network but it won't connect to it, the Wifi is not password protected so that is not the problem, when trying to connect it loads for a few minutes then freezes the entire phone. I have done everything mentioned on the support board. I turned the phone off for 8 hours and then turned it back on. It connected to the network for around 15 minutes and then disconnected and has not connected since. I also reset the network settings and reset the wireless router and I forgot the network. It still will not connect to the network.

I have also noticed since this issue started that my phone is overheating and the battery life is exteremly short, for example I had it on for 4 hours this morning, sent 2 texts and checked facebook once and my battery life when from 99 to 46. I am not sure if those two issues are related to my connecting issue but I thought the more information the better.

If anyone has any ideas other than what I have tried please respond.

Any problem connecting the iPhone to any other wi-fi network besides this particular network?

After what you have already tried with no success, the next step is restoring the iPhone with iTunes. You can restore from the iPhone's backup first but since saved wi-fi networks are included with the iPhone's backup, any problem with that in regards to this particular network will be transferred with the backup. If no change after restoring the iPhone as a new iPhone or not from the backup and this is a problem with every other wi-fi network your iPhone has access to, the iPhone has a hardware problem.
