Hi, thank you so much for replying. I don't use a blackberry phone (haven't since I've had this computer so I don't understand how that driver even exists!) and I have upgraded to Mavericks. I've used spotlight and search to find that driver to try and remove it but it doesn't show up anywhere on my computer. Any ideas on how to get rid of it? Thank you so much!

Thank you again for your help. I went to the URL and I don't have the disk so I downloaded the dmg file and then when I went to uninstall per the instructions and it said the blackberry software does not appear to be installed. Nothing will be removed. Do I need to install and then uninstall?

Yes, ever since I upgraded I have had issues especially w/ iMail.

Ashley,

There are terminal commands to check to see if it's loaded. I'm not a big Unix guy, but here's what you need to do.

Open the terminal. Copy the following line and paste it into the terminal window:

kextstat | grep rim

The other thing to do is to clear the kext cache. Here's a link on how to do it.

http://seo-michael.co.uk/slow-shutdown-startup-macbook-mavericks-10-9/

You can do the cache clearing with a program called Onyx if you want to stay out of the terminal.

http://www.titanium.free.fr

The easy way is to run Onyx. Cleaning the caches is under maintenance. Reboot and hopefully you won't see the problem anymore.

My computer keeps restarting because of a problem
