I just setup my iPad Air this AM.
My iPhone 5 OS 7.0.4 - which was sending & receiving mail using my Gmail account, now only receives mail.
I cannot reply or compose a message using my iPhone.
I can send & recieve email from my laptop & my iPad Air using the same gmail account.
Any suggestions how to get all functions back for my gmail on my iPhone?

Try force closing the Mail app by double-tapping the home button, locating Mail in the list at the bottom,swiping up on the image above the app icon to close it, then double-tap the home button again. For good measure, then reset the phone by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.
Then open Mail and see if it's working properly now.

I deleted my gmail account & re- added... still no ability to reply or compose.

Try going to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars, tap you Gmail account and delete it. Then set it up again and see if it functions properly now.
