I have a balance of $5.31 left from my iTunes card (2012), the system will not allow me to redeem

I need support on an iTunes gift card that has a balance of $5.31 but I am unable to redeem it. Does the gift cards expire? The balance is listed on my account.

Contact iTunes Support - http://apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html - and ask them to clear your balance.
