Preview Thumbnails

Hi,
I used to be able to open up multiple images in Preview and then hit Exposé to see all the images, tiled and available for viewing. Now, however, after opening many images, Preview then places the remaining images in another window and creates a list of Thumbnails instead of new windows. I must navigate up and down the list to view my images. Is there anyway to get back my multi-windowed viewing?
Thanks in advance,
PapaMac

I have a similar (if not identical) problem. Let me explain it really carefully cause the behavior is pretty odd.

First, I double click on a single icon of an image in finder. It opens a new window in Preview showing that image. Then I double click the icon of a second image in Finder. It opens a second window in Preview showing the second picture. So far, this is exactly the behavior I want.

The problem is that if I keep repeating this process (clicking icons to open more pictures), Preview will never open more than 20 windows. Preview used to open a new window for each picture I opened, but now it will only do that for up to 20 pictures. Every time I click an image icon after I already have 20 Preview windows open, Preview just adds the new image to the drawer of the top most window. This new behavior started around Mac OS X 10.4.7 (or possibly Mac OS X 10.4.6) on my Intel based MacBook Pro.
