Update to Mavericks, BUT, Canon MP960 scanner no longer works. Printing is still OK. I need help.

The MP960 is an older model and Canon is no longer providing an ICA driver that would allow you to scan with Image Capture or Preview.

But there is a scanner driver and the MP Navigator scanning application for 10.7 that you can install on 10.9 and use for scanning.

I'm having the same issue as GhinGhin where my scanner on the MP960 is no longer working under Mavericks. I tried PAHU's suggestion of downloading MP Navigator (ver.3 that was available for 10.7), but the application will crash immediately after opening.

Did both of you have success running MP Navigator in Mavericks and then scanning?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I was able to install the 10.7 version of MP Navigator on my test Mac but I don't have that model so I did not try opening the application.

One suggestion would be to trash the MP Navigator folder, reboot the Mac and then install the 10.7 version again.

Tried doing that, but MP Navigator still "quit unexpectdedly".

Anyone able to run MP Navigator 3.0 successfully in OSX Mavericks?

Yes - I was able to get it to work. I also installed the driver from the canon website listed under 10.7 Osx. Let me know if you have questions.

After getting right up Cannon for not supporting OSX 10.9.4, they seemed to pull updates out of thin air.
