There is a workaround for the issue, but I haven't seen Alesis users yet report succes with it. Or failure.
The workaround:
Quit Logic.
Open Audio MIDI Setup, it can be found in Applications>Utilities.
In AMS, open the Audio window.
In the audio window, click on the + box, and select Create Aggregate Device:

Now select this device in the list on the left, and on the right hand choose the in- and outputs of your interface, AND the built in microphone:

Next, important, choose the Built-in Microphone as the Master Clock.

Now you can quit AMS (no need to Save), start Logic and select the Aggregate Device as In- and output.
This is reported working for some M-Audio interfaces and some USB mics (Blue Yeti). I have tested it with two TI chip based 16 bit interfaces (Ion and Behringer UCA200), which did not work.
