iPhone 5c has colored lines on the right half of the touch screen display, and the touch screen is also unresponsive on the right side?

What should I do if my iPhone 5c has colored lines on the right half of the touch screen display, and the touch screen is also unresponsive on the right side?

This just happened spontaneously. I cannot unlock my phone because one of the numbers in my passcode is on the unresponsive portion of the screen. The lines resemble those when a monitor isn't fully connected to a computer.

iPhone 5c, iOS 7.0.3

Hi MamboMami,

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.

If you are seeing colored lines on your iPhone display, I recommend first resetting it:

Resetting your device

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

You can find the full article with these steps here:

If the lines are still there after you reset the iPhone, I recommend that you back it up and restore it using iTunes:

Hey MamboMami, you're experiencing the same problem that I had. This was caused because the even though the glass on the screen isn't broken, the inside of the 5c is. I've had the same problem and the phone also became unresponsive. Your options are to take it to the apple store and they'll replace the screen for $150. Or if you want a completely new 5c, it'll be around $290. They consider this physical damage so that is why you'll have to pay the out of warranty price.
