Exporting Error Message (-12348)

Try deleting render files. Turn off background render in the preferences. Do not render again.

I have the same EXACT problem and I need to export this project ASAP!!

What version of FCPX are you using ?

Done, but it doesn't work either. I also disabled NapApp, but the error still pops up.

I got this too. My files are hosted on an external hard drive. I thought it might have been an upgrade problem, but when i re-did the entire video from scratch it still didn't export.

I moved all my files to the HD, removed the media, re-imported it, and still nothing. Tried the deleting render files. Tried turning off nap app and background render, nothing has worked. Only exporting as a 1080 apple device option, but want to export in 5k.

I have OS X mavericks and on final cut 10.1.1. I work on an iMac.

What are your project properties? That's what FCP exports.

Video Properties:

Format: 5K

Resolution: 5120x2160

Frame Rate: 23.98p

Audio and Render Properties:

Audio Chanell: Stereo

Audio Sample Rate: 96kHz

Render Format: Apple Pro Res 422

and I export the master file using the video codec H.264

Nothing. Can you explain that? What exactly are you doing to export and whjat happens when you do it?

As in "Nothing has worked."

I click the "share" button, click "master file (default)", the normal screen comes up where you can review the settings, I click next, it lets me choose where I want to export the file to, I choose desktop, I click save, and a second later I get a "shared failed" at the top right of my screen.

When I click "details" I got the same message as Ken

The share operation "Master File" has failed.

The operation could not be completed because an error occurred while exporting (error -12348).

What external drive? How is it connected?

All of the library files are now hosted on the HD, the media files are no longer on the external.

It might be worth mentioning, that I had another problem with another project, and both of these projects were created before the Final Cut Pro X 10.1 update. Both projects dealt with RED .R3D files. The project can't export at 5k but can export via "Apple Devices 1080p"

I thought trashing absolutley everything from the projects and rebuilding from scratch would solve it since there might be some weird transfer stuff happening from the update, but it didn't work in either case.

I'm now having trouble exporting anything at 5K because of this error.

Version 10.1.1, only succeeded once with H264, then I always get the -12348 error, no matter how I try.

Finally, I tried to switch the Codec to Apple ProRes 422, it works!

But the file is too large... It's a 4K video.

I get this error every time when I try to share a video more than 4k. The solution is always turning the video codec to Apple ProRes 422 instead of H.264.
