iOS 7.0.4 battery drain iPhone 4S

Who else is experiencing this?

I have an iPhone 4S with 20% brightness and only wifi on. Bluetooth, 3G, the parallax affects are all off. My wallpaper is a still picture. I used reduce motion to reduce animation affects and now I even had to remove some items from the notification center. Location services is off.

Previously in iOS 6 I had bluetooth, wifi and location services left on and had a nice battery of 10 hours usage with auto brightness left on as well. Now I have to keep looking at the phone battery as it slips away. What the heck Apple?

I found location services was the big drain on my 4s, especially if the new background services were firing up an app that used GPS. (The camera was always a huge battery drain on the 4s, in iOS 6 and iOS 7.) I've had similar issues with those settings on my new 5s. DId you turn off background app refresh when you turned off location services?

Location services off

Bluetooth only on for an hour for use

Wifi constantly on

Reduce motion on (to rid of the extra animations eating my battery)

Contrast on (again, to reduce animations and that blur affect)

Brightness less than half

Background app refresh is also off

I get 7 hours usage time with having all this caution and care. Before in iOS 6 I used to leave bluetooh, GPS on and auto brightness as well, it gave me a good 10-12 hours of screen time usage.

7 HOURS IS TOTAL BS !

I understand a new update causes issues. If it was 9 hours or so it would have been fine but 7? Is this a blackberry curve?

Apple will soon lose a customer if a proper update doesnt come. Other phones nowadays have much better battery life and less hassles.

Same here: I just updated my 4s to 7.0.4 because I wanted to try an app that only works in 7.x, and battery lasts less than a day of normal usage. I had 5.1.1 before and phone battery lasted 2 full days without recharging, without the need of switching everything off (bluetooth, location, etc.)

I think I made a big mistake upgrading my iPhone 😝 😕

Do you also own an iphone and an iPad? I have struggled with all solutions to fast depleting battery on iphone 4s (and on the ipad) since installing ios7. I sync via icloud to my ipad and noticed the b stopped if I powered off the ipad for a day! ios7 must have set up some cycle that drained both devices. Now I have set the ipad to manual (not push) on icloud and diary sync and battery life is back to normal for a whole week it can last 48 hours with light use- no longer have to keep shutting down all apps and turning off bluetooth and wifi to get through a day! Any one else found the same solution?
