Adobe Acrobat License file location?

Hey,

This might sound wierd but bare with me.

Background:

I installed latest version of Acrobat last night as I need a urgent size reduction of a pdf file (color sync utility did not reduce enough while maintaining good quality...). I was running it as Trial and I would like to remove it from my mac (running Meverick) now. However, I wonder where does the software save its license file on Mac?

Here is the reason:

Lets say I decide to give it a serious trial of acrobat 6-month down the road before I pay adobe and I install the acrobat. Will the software check my harddrive to see if there is any license file? If so, it will be shown as trial expired and it will force me to buy before even to try...

Hope this make sense.

It does make since but you can do this free. You can download almost any Photo Editing Software.

Using a Photo Editing Software you are able to resize and change the format as well.

http://www.gimp.org.

As for the license you won't be able to save or move it to extend the use of there software.

I would be really interested to know how to reduce pdf file size in GIMP...without lossing too much of quality.

Depending on the size of the photo and what size you are trying to make it.

If you are making the raw image smaller you won't loose any quality.

If you are trying to make the raw image larger is when you loose quality.

Normally you click on the image and then go to one of the corners and simply click and move the arrow toward the center of the image to make it smaller. Or move it away from the center to make it larger.

Next you go up to the menu bar at the top and choose FILE- SAVE AS and you click on the drop down and choose the format you want your image to be.

This sounds very complicated but it really isn't once you have done it.

It is true that Adobe Software in my mind is a little eaasier to work with but it's because I am more familiar with that software.

Are u talking about resizing images? If so, I know how to do that in gimp...but I need to reduce size of an existing PDF file. I tried others but can not get acceptable quality with smaller size.

If thats the case change the format to TIFF and then resize the TIFF file and after you have the size you want SAVE AS and change the format back to PDF. I am not sure why you are using a PDF file. Instead of .JPG. Give a little more info.

I am now not sure I follow you... I said I need to reduced the size of an existing PDF file. I am not asking suggestion if I should use PDF or JPG...

it is the software, It is possible to reduce the PDF without loss of quality. I have given you the information that I am aware of . There are a ton of older software that you can use instructions I gave above to perform the reduction/

Adobe's Photoshop, Photo Deluxe, Illustrator.
