Is there a way to reset the calendar completely?

I've tried to do this a few different ways, but none have been successful. the problem I'm having is when I launch the calendar, I'm immediately shown a progress bar and the message "moving calendars to server account..." But this just churns forever and all the other options are grayed out. I let it run for a full day last week and nothing happens. If it means I loose everything, fine. I can resubscribe to my remote/google calendars. But right now, this isn't functional at all. I've looked all over the support pages and elsewhere but can't find anything related to this. I'm running Mavericks on a Mac Pro.

thanks

Permanent fix.

Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.

Thanks to leonie for some information contained in this.

You might need to redo the View settings after an update.
