Videos not playing.

I recently filmed a Tv show and now i have to edit it final cut pro x. When i go to open my videos they dont work this message comes up in this image.

But i can open them in other video players like VLC it will play then the video frezzes and the timer along the bottom keeps going, dont understand that. I have even converted them into mp4's and it still does the same.

When at work i use windows computers(i cant stand them) the videos play fine. i have done all the newest updates on my mac

could anyone help me here!
