Ring duration fix

No luck at all with the countless forum and other listings that say to use the long code string, *61*, etc, etc to extend the ring time as it only results for me and others with a final response of "error performing request unknown error". If you are an AT&T user, simply call AT&T and ask that they use their "Torch" program to extend the ring time past the default 20 seconds. Worked for me with the iPhone 5, now getting six rings and 30 seconds.

Now if Apple would just fix the myriad of problems with the iOS 7 version, such as decreased ring volume and shorter number of rings (like one) then to voice mail it would be a big help. This is the sole reason I had to try to extend ring time as it gives me an outside chance to hear the dimished ring and alert volumes. BUT Apple will not acknowledge the countless number of complaints found on a number of forums and also passed by word of mouth by disatisfied users.

Apple: Please fix iOS7 or provide an option to go back to iOS6 that worked.

If there were a problem with the iPhone providing only one ring before a call goes to voicemail with the default ring time by ATT of 20 seconds, how go you suppose adding 10 seconds to the ring time solves that?

It wouldn't. You do know an incoming call is received at a server first and routed to the appropriate tower before being received by a cell phone? Although this occurs pretty fast most of the time, there can be a lag at a particular time from the server to the phone. The ring time is based on when the call is received at the server initially, not when it eventually makes it to the phone.

This is a user to user help forum only. You are not addressing Apple here.

I can confidently say that very more than likely you will not be provided an option to revert to iOS 6.

The one ring deal is/was an intermittent thing. The long term fix of expanding the ring time helps the issue of the low volume ring tone created by the iOS7 changes as I stated to at least give me a little more time to hear the phone ring on its low volume. Also as I stated, the fix by AT&T for the 30 second ring tone WORKS. I was trying to offer a fix that has to be done by the carrier since Apple does not have the fix. You addressed only the intermittent issue not the primary issue. My posting was to provide user to user help re the primary issue. If others (users) have a fix or bandaid for the low volume issue in iOS7, this user would appreciate hearing from them.

If enough users discuss the same issues this user would hope that at some point in time Apple would pay attention.Surely there are Apple users and/or employees that read this site. May be wishful thinking but I can hope.

Buy the way I have attempted to solve this with Apple and the response is to reset to ground zero and start over.

Nothing about the iPhone or the settings has anything to do with how the phone goes to voicemail. That is all controlled by the carrier, that is why AT&T was able to change that for you. It has nothing to do with the number of rings, it has to do with timing. Nothing about iOS 7 had any effect on that either. Apple does now support downgrading of iOS and never has. I don't see it changing anytime soon.
