I remove birthdays from calendar, it keeps coming back

I looked it up how to remove the birthday notifications, mine was when i imported facebook, it stored them on outlook contacts, i uncheck it but the next birthday that comes up it alerts me and when i click on it it shows it checked, i have unchecked it about 12 times now over the past month, someone please help. The only option i have found is to remove all my contacts.
