There are a few ways to do this, the first is Mirroring where what you see on your screen will be the same on your TV. The second is Extended Desktop where your TV is the second screen. You also have the option to basically work with the lid closed but you would need a keyboard and mouse connected to make it to where the TV is the only monitor. Check out the articles below on how to do all of these and choose the one that fits your operating system on your MacBook Pro.
