how do i put my apple imac g 5 to factory settings as like i have just bought it

Hiya I got a imac of a friend as a swap i would like to take it to factory setting as like it would be brand new and i would like to set it up all from fresh can anyone help me please plus it dont like downloading the new itunes aswell :\

these are my hardware overview

Insert its original disk, restart the computer with the C key held down, use the Disk Utility to erase the partition with Mac OS X installed, and then install a new OS onto it.

If you don't have its original disks, phone AppleCare and order replacements.

ive not recived a disc with the mac thats the problem tbh no discs bit stuck 😟 but dont get why theres no serial number on its system

1. As stated above, phone AppleCare. Alternatively, buy a compatible retail DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay.

2. An internal Apple tool can set the computer's serial number. Somehow, that was either used to erase it or it got erased in another way and wasn't put back.
