Seagate Drive can read on my lap top but not my tower

I have a Seagate Hard Drive that I am using a docking bay to work off of. The drive was sent to me by a client so I don't know much about how it was formatted. The drive is reading fine on my personal Macbook Pro (same exact operating system, 10.6.8), but I can not get the drive to read on my work computer (I get the error message an error message asking if I want to utilize the drive). I can see the drive in Disk Utility but "repair disk" and "verify disk" are greyed out so I can't click them. I did not set up my work computer nor did I format the drive so this has been even harder for me since I have no idea what the problem might be. And then on top of that I've never had to work with a drive like this before so I just really have no clue what the problem is here. Can anyone help?

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
