    Hey rjnelson,

I see you came from the iOS: Troubleshooting Personal Hotspot, which is applicable to the issue you describe. If you haven't already, I would run through the steps within that article, specifically the following:

    1. Try disabling and reenabling Personal Hotspot from Settings > Personal Hotspot or Settings > General > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
    2. Install the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
    3. Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    4. If none of the previous steps resolves your issue, restore the iPhone.

    Hey Delgadoh,

Thanks for the reply.  All available updates are installed.  I did try the resetting of the phone and it worked only once or twice out of quite a few attempts.

I have tracked down a process that seems to work consistently now.  I toggle off the wifi and personal hotspot on my phone and then toggle off the wifi on my surface pro. Then toggle the wifi and personal hotspot back on on the phone first and then after a few seconds turn the wifi back on on the surface then my phone does show up on my list of available wifi sources. It's as though the phone only shows available for a short time.  I do have to go through this process each time I want to connect. Hey, at least it seems to be working.

    Thanks,
