Is there is a way to reply to a messages sender (only) if the message is originally sent to multiple users? (My replies go to all the recipients.)Thanks

Actually, it is a flaw in group messaging itself. It has nothing to do with the iPhone. All group messaging works this way. That is one of the reasons that I detest getting group messages, the recipient has no control over how you reply or receive replies. I really don't care to hear how everyone in the group feels about things under most circumstances. And there is no way to remove yourself from a group chat either, so as long as people keep responding, you will keep getting these responses. At least they have reduced the number of people that can be a part of a group message down to 10. That should limit the responses somewhat.

I kind of wish there was a way to opt out, and wonder if that is something that could be coded in. Maybe if that is something that you would like as well, try leaving feedback for Apple at www.apple.com/feedback and click on the appropriate link.

Well, a year ago when the OP started this, she decided this answered her question, especially since there is no way to do as you ask. If you would like to see an enhancement like this, then you need to provide that information to Apple. This is a user to user support forum, and Apple does not participate here. Feedback to Apple goes to http://www.apple.com/feedback and then you click on the appropriate subject area.

Fact is this is how messaging works. As a group message recipient you don't really have control over the message anyway. This is one of the problems I find with Group messaging, but it is that way in all group messaging, not just the iPhone. Good luck with trying to get that changed.

Go to original message. Hit 'details'. Find original sender's name. Click it 'i' next to their name. Click then bubble, and answer to the sender. The original message is not included, but you can always copy and paste it, screenshot it, or just reply. The sender should remember what they shed you. This has worked well for me in the past.

Unfortunately, it only works if all the participants in the group are using iMessage. And, it was not an option when the person to whom you're replying asked the question two years ago.
