I need one of my phones locked until I get my hands on it...also need to change the password so it can't be cut back on

Are you saying you want to put a passcode on your phone to lock it, and then when you want to use it change the passcode to unlock the phone?
Whatever passcode you set, can't be change until you unlock the phone and then go into settings to change the password again.
If you lock your phone with a passcode, then there is no way to unlock it until you unlock it with your passcode.
I have 3 iphones...my ex has one of them that belongs to me...I was told by apple.com that i could go online from a computer and lock it somehow or nother so it can not be used until I get it back...that's what I want to do...it is registered to me and we share the icloud account...i want to go online and lock it and change the password of the icloud account so it can not be used...

Go to www.icloud.com sign in - find my iphone - you'll see the option.
