Which video (movie) formats are supported by Ipad air?

Also please suggest a good and free video format converter. I tried a couple of them but they take almost 4 to 5 hrs to convert a video format.

It can take several hours to process a movie for iPad.


There are several free tools you should have: VLC Player, Handbrake, and Handbrake Batch. Use either of the Handbrakes to process the video; the movies you end up with should be around 2GB each. If you have a bunch of movies, batch it with Handbrake Batch.


The amount of time to process a movie will vary on their size, but the time to process a movie will roughly equal the length of the movie itself. The movies will end up in mp4 or m4v format, which are playable on your iPad.
