Q: iMessage stopped working in certain group chats.
Ok so a few days ago, iMessage stopped working for me in certain group chats. Originally, i though it might be because someone had turned off iMessage or something like that, but iMessage and the group chat is still working for everyone else. The group chats have between 8 and 10 people, so I don;t know if maybe it stopped working because there are too many people, but again it worked before and still works for everyone else. iMessage works in all conversations with one other person or a three person chat. Whenever I go to the chats that are only sending text, it sends it to everyone individually. That might just be because it is text, I am not sure. I have the newest update. At first, I checked the settings, which were all right, and then turned my phone off and on. It still was not working with iMessage. It has been a few days and it is still not working. Help!! It is very annoying for my friends to individually receive my group messages!!

Hello jotto13,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2755
To resolve issues with sending and receiving iMessages, follow these steps first
- Check iMessage system status for current service issues.
- Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure that you have registered iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID and that you have selected iMessage for use. Learn more about troubleshooting iMessage registration if the phone number or Apple ID isn't available for use.
- Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify data connectivity. Learn more about troubleshootingcellular data or a Wi-Fi connection if a data connection isn't available.
- iMessage over cellular data might not be available while on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn more about which network your phone supports. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on to use iMessage while on a call if your network doesn't support simultaneous data and voice calls.
- Restart your device.
- Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
Best of luck,
Mario
