Do they make a 30 pin to lightning adapter?

All I see is the other way around. I would like to plug my daughter's ipod touch 4th Gen in to our Bose SoundDock Series III, using the front plug, not the AUX plug. Just wondering if they made "the other way around" adapters.

iPod touch (4th generation), iOS 6.1.5

No, they do not exist, It is like trying to to turn ground beef back into steak.

But they do exist and as I said, here's one: http://www.guuds.com/product/iP5-9020__Lightning-8-Pin-Female-to-30-Pin-Male-Ada pter-for-iPhone-4S-iPad-3-iPod-Touch-4-Black.html If you questioning how a 30 pin connector can connect to an 8 pin (lightning) connector remember that the connector on the other side of a standard Apple cable (either lightning or 30 pin) is a 4 pin USB connection.

The user wants a 30-pin iPod to mate with a Lightning dock. That means 30-pin to Lightning. There is no such thing..

Your link is for Lightning device (5G iPod touch) for example going to an accessory (dock) that has a 30-pin connectory. Lightning to 30 pin.

That is why I said you can make sausage from steak (Lightning to 30-pin) but not steak from sausage (30 pin to Lightning)

lllaass,

I dont understand. Please explain to me so I don't make the mistake again. I was under the opinion that a dock has a male connection that an iPod/iPhone fits directly on. (if that is not correct, ignore the rest, but sure looks like it's the case from the Bose SoundDock Series III website). I also understand that that Dock is meant to mate with an iPhone/iPod 5 with a Lightning jack and that he wishes to use that dock with an iPod 4 which a 30 pin jack. The adaptor I linked to has a female lightning jack which can plug into the dock. The other end has a 30 pin plug which can connect with the gen 4 iPod. I see this doing what the OP want. What do I have wrong here?

Your adopter will physically connect. However. it will only allow charging and syncing. The link you provided includes saying:

  • With this converter adapter you can use your iPhone 5 cable on your iPhone 4S, supports syncing & charging
  • Friendly reminder: this item just a converter adapter, the matching cable is not included
  • Notice: this converter adapter can not support any audio and video product
