How to correct lost data in migration to new iMac running 10.9.1?

I have used Migration Assistant from a Time Machine Backup disk of a MacBook Pro running OSX10.6.8 to a 2012 iMac running OSX10.9.1. The migration omitted all data from the intervening backups and used only the original back up on that disk a month ago. How do I use restore to get the missing data onto the new iMac? The data is there on the back up disk and on the old MBP still.
