Grey Screen after bootcamp installation - Keyboard unresponsive. Please help!!

Hi Guys,

I have a 2010 mac mini and I installed Win 7 on bootcamp recently, it installed fine, then I did all updates etc and it rebooted ok (into windows)

In the bootcamp settings in windows i set OSX at the start up OS.

After a couple of days away from it, i rebooted today and much to my dismay it is stuck on the grey screen (no apple logo or spinning wheel etc). I do hear the start up sound.

i have seached forums most of the day and many of the fixes recommended involve holding keys on the keyboard. It seems that the keyboard is not responsive so that makes them useless.

i have tried a usb keyboard (windows) also, with no luch there either.

I have a non OS DVD stuck in the drive which a cant get out too.....

Anything else anyone can suggest?

Thanks in advance

Mac mini (Mid 2010), OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

Have now done the following:

Removed & replaced NVRAM battery

removed HDD from Mac Mini, removed Windows Partition using a 2nd Mac

Formatted HDD to hopefully reinstall fresh OSX, again using a 2nd mac

disconnected optical drive

all with same result - Grey screen.

I sadly feel its the end for this machine unless anyone else has any ideas?
