Getting no video signal from Firewire camera - Mavericks issue?

Having an issue with an HDV fireware video camera.

I am on a late 2011 15" MBP. I updated to Mavericks when it was released and had no issues with firewire. But yesterday I replaced my optical drive with an SSD (becoming my boot drive). Now, in various apps, they see the camera as a source but get no video signal.

Any thoughts?

(1) Mac Basics: Connect your camera or camcorder

(2) iMovie '08 or later: Cannot see or control camera

(3) If nothing else helps, Reinstall OS X Mavericks and Apple - iMovie for Mac.

(4) If problem continues, double check your work from changing to an SSD to be sure no internal connections were adversely affected during your modification.

(5) Contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider to have your Mac serviced.
