Windows 8 BootCamp Screw-Up

So, I decided to bootcamp my MacBook Pro to Windows 8. I went out and bought the software. I went through with bootcamp, but I couldn't download the windows software. I didn't think anything of it and thought I could do it later. After the update, I found out that I couldn't switch back to the Apple OS. I downoaded the update on a seperate USB stick from another computer and now my MacBook says BootCamp x64 isnt supported on this model (64bit). I found out that my MacBook Pro (Mid 2010 model) ISNT SUPPORTED. I am so lost right now and have no idea what to do. Im going to an Apple Genius on Friday but I am worried that I permanently messed up my computer. If Windows 8 ISN'T compatible, then I just stupidly blew $119.99. Does anyone have any thoughts?
