1st Generation iPod touch

My first gen ipod touch just stopped working. The touch screen is non-responsive. Was their a recall? Via Itunes I was able to load the new iOS but the problem presist. Never had moisture damage. Was lost, found it, charged it... Nothing. Can't get passed the initial ipod screen.

No, there wasn't any wide-ranging issue with the first-generation iPod touch and hence no reason Apple would have recalled them. If you restored the iPod to factory settings and it still won't work, and nothing else here helps:

then it apparently has failed. That happens; anything can break. Sorry it happened to you. You can get it exchanged by Apple for a fee, but if it were me I'd put the money toward a newer iPod touch. The first-gen is too limited now in what it can run to make it worth spending money on.
