I had an iPhone 3 and an iPad4. I recently upgraded to an iPhone5c. I am looking for photos in iCloud on my iPad that would have been taken on my old iPhone3. They are photos of the day I got engaged. iCloud is showing me pictures before the date and after the date, but not on the date. Is there any reason this would happen?
Note - the SIM card has been deleted.
If the missing photos were in your camera roll when you last backed up your device, restoring the backup should recover them.
I am a bit of a beginner with this stuff...how do I "restore the backup"?
If the backup is an iCloud backup you have to start by erasing your phone. If you have any newer data on your phone that is not stored in the backup, you'll need to save that first.
Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts.
Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger as it is restoring the backup.
